The festival takes place in the Freezer hostel and theatre in Rif, Snæfellsber. Rif is about a two and a half hour drive away from Reykjavík. Rif is located in the Snæfellsnes peninsula in western Iceland and is a small fishing village in the municipality of Snæfellsbær which includes two bigger towns, Hellisandur and Ólafsvík.
By plane to Iceland
There are plenty of airlines travelling to Iceland, we recommend taking a look at the best price from each airline through www.dohop.com.
Strætó will get you to Rif in a little over three ours. They have two trips a day. Plan your trip here .
If you are traveling from the airport you need to take the airbus from the airport to Reykjavík.
Sometimes the cheapest way to get to the festival from the airport is by renting a car. We recommend doing that, specially if you are in a group.
Rif is a two and a half hour drive northwest of Reykjavík. You drive out of the Reykjavík, via Vesturlandsvegur and from there you head towards the Hvalfjörður tunnel and go through the tunnel. From there you head towards Borgarnes and drive through Borgarnes towards Stykkishólmur and Ólafsvík. When you are in the Snæfellsnes peninsula you can either go through Grundarfjörður or drive across Fróðarheiði which is a little shorter, but it’s a slightly worse road and is sometimes closed in the winter time.
Here is the google map route.
