The 11th Northern Wave International Film Festival ended last weekend.

The International short film award went to a short film from Belgium , May Day by Olivier Magis and Fedrik De Beul. The Icelandic short film award went to Bjarnarblús by Loga Sigursveinsson.

The audience award for best music video went to „Into the Dark“ by Between Mountains directed by Haukur Björgvinsson .

The festival organized a masterclass in collaboration with WOMARTS and Wift Nordic. Editor, director and writer Valdís Óskarsdóttir (Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind, Festen, Mifune, Julien Donkey boy) was the master and the masterclass was moderated by Nanna Frank Rasmussen, head of the danish critics association. The masterclass was live streamed and the video is below:

Producer Gale Anne Hurd (The Terminator, Aliens, The Hulk, The Walking dead) was the festivals honorary guest and also did a masterclass moderated by jury member, actress and magazine editor Steinunn Ólína Þorsteinsdóttir leikkonu. Below is a recording of the masterclass :

Steinunn Júlíusdóttir from Rif won the fish course competition. Steinnunn made a halibut dish that she created many years ago and is a special occasion dish, as she said herself and obviously the guests of the festival agreed since they voted her dish the best one of the competition.
